Park City Gallery Association – Video Shoot

PCGA Video Shoot for Gallery Virtual Tours

Last year was a difficult one in Park City as individuals, families and businesses alike struggled with the pandemic. It’s a year we’re glad to have put behind us. The Park City Gallery Association also faced its share of challenges, perhaps the most difficult being our Friday Gallery Strolls, which moved to a virtual format before returning to the current limited openings arrangement.

Our galleries rose to the challenge, offering their customers and visitors safe environments to view and purchase artwork wearing masks, social distancing and scheduling private appointments. Fortunately, these measures have  been working pretty well, and we thank the public for their cooperation and understanding as we look to return to normal operations.

With the new year approaching, our association president, Jen Schumacher, owner of Trove Gallery searched for new ways to connect with visitors and customers. Her inspired idea was to create video tours for each of our participating galleries.  Once completed, the video tours would be available on our website’s gallery pages, distributed through social media channels, and as QR code links on gallery window displays for passersby when they are closed. Giving people the opportunity to virtually visite and explore our galleries. With the able assistance of Becca McHaas, they were able to secure the funding, set their goals for the videos, and launch the project late last year.

Schumacher entrusted the project to Marketing by Design Agency and Marc Estabrook Photography, both local resources, to arrange, schedule and coordinate a week’s worth of video shoots along Main Street and nearby locations. Our participating galleries — Arts Council Park City & Summit County, Bret Webster Images, David Beavis Fine Art, Gaia on Main, Gallery MAR, J GO Gallery, Julie Nester Gallery, Meyer Gallery, Montgomery-Lee Fine Art, Mountain Trails Gallery, The Prospect Executive Suites, Summit Gallery, Susan Swartz Studios, Trove Gallery and William Kranstover Fine Art all showcased their unique spaces and wonderful artwork during their video shoots. Afterwards local homeowners, tourists and visitors will benefit by exploring our galleries from the comfort of their home or smart phone — whether they are planning for vacations, their next ski adventure, or just returning to their second homes.

“Even after visiting these galleries several times over the years, it was enlightening hear from owners and staff about their galleries in detail, as well as, to fully appreciate the hard work in creating these distinctive spaces and acquiring their stunning artwork.” – Robert Franssen, Marketing by Design
