Kimball Art Center: Upcoming Events

Park City, UT – Kimball Art Center is proud to present exciting new exhibitions from these outstanding artists.

Café Gallery: Jiyoun Lee-Lodge: Mindscape
February 14, 2020 – March 22, 2020|Admission: Free
Jiyoun Lee-Lodge is a Korean-born, Salt Lake City-based artist. Her work addresses, among many topics, identity, perception, and the fragility of memory. She’s interested in how people process the ups and downs in life and inevitable change. Influenced by infographics, animations, and hieroglyphs, she creates “inner portraits,” which portray sight, smell, sound, and emotions that are frozen in time. As she reenacts her experience by staging feelings as forms, she portrays a sense of being between space and time. This show includes ‘Waterman the Stranger’ series, which reflects her struggle to the adaptation to Utah’s life, moving from New York.

Main Gallery: Xi Zhang: Dream Dust Milkshake
February 14, 2020 – April 12, 2020|Admission: Free
Xi Zhang’s recent paintings explore what it is to be human—to grow and evolve, to navigate relationships, and, often, to struggle. Placing his protagonists amid dream-like landscapes, reality becomes tangled with the complicated nature of how we perceive ourselves, others, and our surroundings. It is in these psychologically driven, often ambiguous narratives that Zhang compassionately depicts universal moments of struggle. Here, he aims to uplift the viewer—to inspire hope and let us know that we are not alone in moments of turmoil and tribulation.

Main Gallery: Wasatch Back Student Art Show: It’s Not What It Seems
